Mountaineer Minute August 12, 2020

We are less than one week away from the start of school! Students return is Tuesday August 18th. Thank you to those of you who have completed your registration and are all set to start. If you have not registered yet for the school year, please contact Summit ASAP at 801-610-8183 to set up your intake day and time. Remember, even if you attended Summit in the past, each year you need to come in to register, fill out the necessary paperwork, and get your schedule.

Those of you who have registered already and are waiting on the bus schedule, they will be calling you to let you know where and when the bus will be picking up and dropping off each day.

Face coverings will be required both on the bus and in school. If a student forgets their face covering on any particular day, we will have a disposable mask available for the day. We do not have enough masks for every student, every day of the year, but we never want a student who forgets their covering to think they need to go home.

We will be checking students’ temperatures upon arrival to the school building. If they have a temperature, we will ask them to not enter the school, but head to a quarantine room where we will be calling to get a ride for them to come home. Additionally, if a student develops symptoms during the school day we will be calling and asking for a parent to come get the student. In years past some parents have given permission for the student to take public transportation home. This year, we cannot send a student on public transportation if they are symptomatic.

Attached is a list of symptoms that we ask you to keep your child home if they are showing signs. If a student develops these symptoms during the school day, or have any of these while at school we will be calling home to pick up the student.
We are excited to start the year and have a great year. We know it will look different but our goals are the same. We want to move every student forward toward graduation and find success in school and a happy life. We appreciate all you do to make Summit an amazing school and for your efforts with your students.
