Mountaineer Minute

Happy November! Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and with that we are very grateful for everything that each of you do to help your students achieve while at Summit. We know that there are challenges along the way but the end results are always so rewarding. We are especially grateful that we have been able to hold in person school so far this year. Having the students in the building is so much better for students, teachers, and parents. We will continue to hold classes in person everyday but Wednesday. As things change we will continue to communicate.

Congratulations to our last few students of the week: Shyanne Juggert, Jose Elias De La Cruz, Luke Smith, Kadence Draper and Aaron Saunders. These students have exemplified the Summit student creed for success in school and a happy life. They have made Summit a better place to come to school. Congratulations again to these students!

We have reached the end of term 3 and have begun term 4. With the end of term 3 came two new graduates Aaron Saunders and Shyanne Juggert. This brings our total number of graduates to 7 on the year so far. Congratulations to our newest graduates!
Congratulations to our 4.0 students for term 3: Warner Astle, Tommy Carbajal, John Gallegos, Darian Harrison, Jacob Johnson, Jayden Snyder, Gracie Allen, Asher Davis, Ambrienne Kynion, Jade McCabe, Liliana Pliego, Madajha Rassmussen, and Walker Sampson.
Congratulations to our additional honor roll students for term 3: Carsen Anderson, Daniel Barela, Daija Davis, Kadence Draper, Jeremy Hernandez, Daniel Ivy, Dylan Joseph, Austyn Kirk, Gabe Munoz Ayala, Harley Norr, Danee Ross, Luke Smith, Victoria Swarnes, Simeon Tribe, Yara Villa, and Travis Wood.
Grades are an important aspect to Summit and we appreciate all of our students’ efforts in taking school seriously and achieving such high academic GPA’s. These students represent 32% of the student body at Summit. How exciting that one-third of our student population received the distinction of having a GPA above 3.0.
Due to COVID we have had few opportunities for HLNE activities as we have had in previous years. We are hopeful and excited for days ahead when we can resume a more traditional HLNE schedule. We are grateful that we were able to hold a modified version of the Banff film festival at Summit High last week. We are grateful to those students who were able to attend and hope they enjoyed their evening. We are hopeful to have a TGIS-N prior to Christmas break. We will communicate if this activity is something that will be able to happen following Thanksgiving break.
Upcoming Calendar Dates:
November 25,26,27 – Thanksgiving Break No School
December 18 – Final Day of Term 4
December 21-January 1 – Christmas Break
January 4 – First Day of Term 5
Thanks again for all you do to help your students find success in school and in life!
