Mountaineer Minute

Happy October! We have completed another term and with the autumn season in full force, we have been enjoying the beautiful fall weather. At lunch, our “backyard” is full of students enjoying the last bit of sun and warm weather. In addition, we have been enjoying our outdoor after school activities, pickleball and fly fishing along with many outdoor field trips. We continue to roll along at Summit and appreciate all that you do to aid your students in their educational endeavors.

Calendar
Pickleball and bowling continue to happen after school on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s respectively. Pickleball will be transitioning to an indoor facility as the weather changes, so stay tuned for details with that activity.

This Friday we have a TGIS-N(Thank Goodness Its Summit Night) activity, pumpkin painting contest. This will take place from after school until 3:30pm. All students are invited to attend but must have a ride home at 3:30pm. Snack food will be provided along with the pumpkins and paint for each student who chooses to participate.

Halloween is on Tuesday and students are welcome to dress up in their favorite costumes. School dress code must be followed with each costume, and no masks or weapons are allowed with any costumes.

Wednesday November 8th are Parent Teacher Conferences. This will be from after school until 6pm. Teachers will be reaching out to all guardians to set up appointment times. If you do not hear from a teacher a few days prior please reach out to the school and we can direct you to a teacher for the appointment. We will be using a student’s first period teacher as the “home base” teacher who will reach out. We will have food provided for all who participate in Parent Teacher Conference night, this will include, as we did last year, Chick Fil A sandwiches. We hope all parents will be able to participate.

November 15th is an HLNE(Healthy Lifestyles and New Exposure) to the Eccles Theater to see My Fair Lady. The show begins at 7:30pm that night and transportation to and from Summit will be provided, but students who attend need a ride to Summit prior and picked up after. Students will be invited a week prior and if your student is invited we hope you will support them in going.

Term 3 ends November 21st.

Thanksgiving break is Wednesday November 22nd through Friday November 24th. There is no school for those 3 days. School resumes Monday November 27th. This is also the beginning of term 4.

Thanks for all you do to help your students find success in school and in life!
